empowering youth to live in today's world

Bitterroot Crossing is a true transitional facility that takes girls who have successfully graduated from a more restrictive Therapeutic Boarding setting or Wilderness.  Our goal is to provide a safe environment for young girls to continue the transformation process and help build a stronger family, community, and true friendships that will help them in future endeavors.  We are committed to providing safety and security for our youth.

At Bitterroot Crossing, we know that EVERY GIRL IS DIFFERENT. Because your daughter possesses a unique constellation of experiences, talents, relationships, and struggles, Bitterroot Crossing offers a program that is customized to meet her special needs. The Crossing works to uncover the academic, social, and emotional potential of girls who have been held back by emotional or behavioral struggles. Our staff knows that in school and treatment one size does not fit all, so we meet your daughter right where she is and design a program that changes with her as she grows confident, secure, and healthy during treatment. are designed to form a healing milieu that combines the warmth of a home, the safety and clinical expertise of a residential treatment center, and the community access of a transition program. Bitterroot Crossing is designed to use the love of nature, community, family and self perspective in combination to heal and help your daughter through those rough patches in life.

Bitterroot Crossing Staff are positive role models, and are hired and trained to model integrity, compassion, and professionalism.  We teach and encourage respect for self, respect for others, and respect for nature.  We will treat each youth with dignity and respect, and all youth will be taught to honor the rights of others.  We are committed to promote healing and hope for our youth and their families through the development of healthy choices and healthy relationships.  We are committed to help our youth understand the impact their behavior has on others while learning and applying the concepts of self-discipline, anger management, self-awareness, and impulse control.  Our overall goal is to affect long-lasting change in the lives of troubled teens and create a positive peer environment within a highly structured setting.  Our youth will learn self-acceptance, and will become self-reliant members of the community.

Self, Family, Community and Nature

Bitterroot Crossing is committed to empowering youth to live successfully in today's world. We build character in an environment that teaches values and responsibility with a balance of self, family, community and nature.  We emphasize and discover the inherent talents and individual gifts that exist with our youth to better themselves and the communities in which they live.  Bitterroot Crossing is a family based, live-in facility that will promote and instill real family values.

Help with emotional and behavioral issues

Bitterroot Crossing works with teen girls between the ages of 10 and 17 who are struggling with a range of emotional and behavioral issues. We work to uncover and tap the great potential these teen girls possess; potential that may be masked by internal struggles and emotional pain. By combining the best features of a Alternative High School/High School, a treatment facility, and a transition program, we are able to wrap around these girls with care, giving the support and tools necessary to thrive. Our licensed therapists  and Teachers are equipped to help girls struggling with a number of issues
